SharePlex® Reduces Planned Downtime

A planned outage is still an outage. It comes out of your service levels, your customer satisfaction, and to some, even your market capitalization. We estimate that 80% of outages are due to planned downtime.

Using SharePlex®, you can greatly reduce this downtime — regardless of what the maintenance is, regardless of which operating system is affected, even regardless of the database version and what is being done to the hardware.

Like clustering technologies that enable maintenance on one server in a cluster, SharePlex extends this to all servers. In addition to duplicated servers, this also includes maintenance on the database. Therefore planned maintenance activities around the operating system, database and hardware no longer require extensive downtime. The architecture is very similar to that employed in migrations except it flips between servers routinely as opposed to one-shot change.
