Features and BenefitsMigrator for Sametime- Complete Control: Migrator for Sametime keeps you in complete control of your migration with a centralized Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in. The MMC console allows administrators to work with a familiar interface and provides a broad project view showing all migration steps, the configuration settings per user, and user migration status.
- Pre-Migration Discovery: To help with migration planning, Migrator for Sametime identifies all existing users as well as their contacts and properties in Sametime. Administrators get reports of users with contacts above and below the contact limit and those with nested groups, so they know which ones may present problems during the OCS migration. This discovery can be scheduled to run automatically or on-demand.
- Web-Based Reporting: From the migration console, administrators can view the project status at a glance and provide management with up-to-the-minute reports. Administrators can drill down within the migration status report to access detailed information on the status of each project, even down to the individual user. Reports can be e-mailed or exported to XML, html, or other data formats.
- QuickMap: Migrator for Sametime maps Sametime users to Active Directory (AD) accounts by matching a user attribute from the Domino server with one in AD. If you previously used Quest Notes Migrator for Exchange, the data collected during that migration can be reused to map Sametime users to AD. The tool’s point-and-click process saves valuable administrator time.
- PowerShell Enabled: Migrator for Sametime is now PowerShell enabled. Use the PowerShell command line or Quest PowerGUI™, a free graphical user interface and script editor, to perform tasks. Migrator for Sametime also includes a PowerPack: pre-defined PowerShell scripts for creating and running migration jobs quickly and easily.
- FlexEnable: Migrator for Sametime enables you to control when users are enabled for functionality in Office Communication Server 2007. During this process SIP addresses are automatically generated for users. With Migrator for Sametime, you can use a small group of accounts as a pilot to help ensure a successful migration.
- High-Fidelity Migration: Migrator for Sametime accurately replicates all user settings and contact lists, including external contacts, group names, and the hierarchy of nested groups, in Office Communications Server 2007, ensuring a seamless transition for end users.
- Anytime Scheduling: Administrators can schedule migration tasks to run when they cause minimal impact to end users.
- Simplified Administration: Migrator for Sametime automates manual administrative tasks, including user mapping and group creation, and sends notifications indicating their success or failure. This saves time and prevents errors.
- Minimal Productivity Loss: End users experience no impact from the migration and no loss in productivity. They do not have to rebuild or reorganize their contact lists, saving an average of 30 minutes per user. A company with 10,000 users could save 5,000 hours of productive time by using Migrator for Sametime.
- Migration Assessment: Prior to the migration, administrators can test migration settings without making changes to production servers. This assessment alerts them to any errors or failures that might occur during an actual migration.
